Looking for any descendants of William Stephenson/Stinson b: ca 1799 Ky. and d: Nov. 6, 1842, Owen Co., In.

Following is a report I found on the altercation--
William Stephenson was injured on Nov. 5, 1842 and died the next evening, just after dark.
He was a big man--tall and muscular. Madison Stephenson had a deformed arm and two weeks before had broken or badly injured his leg. His movement was very limited and he pled self defense, as William jumped up and put his hand into his pocket and claimed to have a knife that he was going to use to kill Madison. He swore at Madison thru out the card game and continued shouting at him. William lunged towards Madison and Madison raised his own knife and caught William in "the belly", leaving a three inch gash.
Wm and Madison were playing cards at a place called "Big Rock" or "Flat Rock", believed to be just east of Freedom,Owen Co.,In., on the White River. According to the court statements the argument was over Madison oweing William 25 cents on the game.
There were many in attendence who later were witnesses in the trial. Most were relatives, and some close friends, of both men. I copied the original court papers and there were approx. 20 witnesses called.
Madison was found not guilty of murder, but guilty of manslaughter and sentenced to 15 years of hard labor, and fined $1.00. He did serve some time over it--how long is unknown at this time, but he continued to father 12 children, between 1831-1859.
I have found very little on William's background, so far. I have not found where he was buried. It was thought he and Madison were possibly related.
I'm trying to trace both men in hopes of finding their parents. Madison probably also died in Owen Co., In.

Anything about either of them would be greatly appreciated, and I would share the data I have found.
Thanks, Judy
