Amos Nichols (1798-1859) died in Owen Co., Indiana. I still cannot find what became of his wife Mary (b.1805 NC) and two of his daughters, Martha Jane (b.1833 Owen Co.), and Mary A. (b.1839 Owen Co.). The widow and five of her children were in Morgan Twp, Owen, IN, on the 1860 census. Most of the children went to Missouri and Arkansas but I have been unable to turn up widow Mary and her two daus Martha J. and Mary A. anywhere after 1860, nor identify marriages in either Owen, Clay or Vigo Counties. Does anyone have a clue? Were all three deceased between 1860-70; did they go somewhere else? Amos Nichols is buried at Little Flock Baptist Church cemetery in Owen County.
