Lamb, Newsom, NC_ Indiana Puzzle

After several decades, we found our lost Lambs in Johnston Co., NC.
After Miriam (Merium's) Lamb's husband, John, died in Johnston County in 1815, she had a Hinnant petition for one year's support for herself and their children. The legatees were Jacob, Morico, Sally, Reddick, and Milly. The date of John's death means that John Henry Lamb, b. 1818, was not a son of John who died in 1815. We think it's possible that John is a son of this Sally so that Miriam was his grandmother who raised him as her own;hence, the name John Henry Lamb. He was with the family in NC, SC, GA, and AL. He might have also had an Indiana connection because we have a photo of him in a studio folder with Profit Studio, Goshen, Indiana embossed on it.

John's great grandsons have matched Newsoms instead of any Lambs other than each other.

Also in Johnston County in 1823, Jacob Lamb and Joel Newsom witnessed a deed between David Barnes and Silas Lamb. Now we do have a dilemma. I will appreciate any clues.
