Looking for information about James McNally & Adaline Doutrick (Dietrich), married 10/1869 in Ft Wayne, IN. I believe that Adaline is the widow of Henry Doutrick, who died c.1865 after Civil War service; the only evidence I have of that relationship, however, is her pension application. Strong circumstantial evidence are the kids, since they marry in 1869 and suddenly have 10 year old children--it appears that Adaline and Henry had 4 kids (Mary/Emma, Rebecca, Charles and James) that appear as McNallys in the family census of 1870, and later take back their birth surnames (in the Ft Wayne directories, for example). Evidence against this is the odd fact that Adaline wasn't appointed guardian to Henry's kids until 5/1881, which I don't understand. I have no other information on Henry or Adaline--can't even find them in the 1860 census, though they should have a 2 year old somewhere in OH. No information on Adaline's death.
Of James (born c.1837 PA), he appears to be the son of James Sr and Mary McNally, both born c.1807 in Ireland. They're in Allen cty IN by 1860, but before that I can't find them. I presume from the 1860 census that Ellen O'Neal (c.1839 PA) and Catherine O'Connell (1833 NY) are his sisters--no idea where the husbands are. He and Adaline had a few more kids (Oliver James in 1869--he married Rosa Lee Hobson in 1890--, Nora c.1872, Bertha c.1875, and William c.1878), they they both disappear by 1900. There's a distant possibility that James is the Civil War vet from Ft Wayne who died in Leavenworth KS while seeking treatment in 12/1896, but that record suggests James had been living in KS since discharge, which is certainly not true of my James, and I haven't found a Thomas that's the son of James Sr & Mary to match that record.
So ... any additional information appreciated.
