Sandra, actually we are both correct! I looked in my HUGH stack of data on the Phipps. I have KY death certificates for both a John Phipps (Died: Sept 7, 1927; Born Oct 19 1867) and a KY death cert. for James Phipps (Died: Feb 11, 1935 BORN: Jan 24 1862). There would have been about 5 years difference in their age.
John's parents are listed as Tal/Tol Phipps and Celino (at least that is what it looks like) Wilburn (and the ink is smeared on the last name so it is also difficult to make out...he died sudden with heart disease. John's certificate is all hand-written. #21109.. Place of death is listed only as KY.
James's certificate is TYPED! yippa-hi-ya!! He also died of heart failure - caused by neurealze of the heart (don't we ALL die of HEART FAILURE???) lol-lol His parents are listed as Toll Phipps and Cecil Wilburn of Knox County KY - very plain since it is typed. The only thing unreadable of his cert is the burial site which has been crossed out and something written in which is unreadable. His cert # is 4688.
