I have seen the record of Celie Wilburn that you speak of and discounted it as the marriage date does not fit Malinda Jane Phipps' birth.....however, I did not know that she had 2 children BEFORE this marriage date! Do you know the names of these two sons who were born BEFORE this marriage?
Yes, I have considered that Malinda Jane Phipps might have been born out-of-wedlock and also that she might possibly have been raised by a family named PHIPPS and she just took the name as her own.
I find it extremely puzzling that I cannot definitely pin down her parents as that is not so far in the past! Her death certificate plainly states her parents to be Tal Phipps and Cealy Wilburn! WHERE in the world did they go to???
