...thanks, we have all census info on them, a couple marriage certs, etc...

Possible marriage record of Emily's parents in Wayne Co., IN:
Susanah Jackson married Nathan Newby on 1832-03-08.(Book B ; Page 136)

However...Emily is born JAN 1832 ... the above marriage isn't until MARCH 1832.

So your additional marriage (via Nathan & Piety) was especially curious...this would be a more logical set of parents as she would be born 10 months later! I will try to track this down!!

Emeline NEWBY marries Samuel Harrison DAVISON in 1853 in Miami Co., IN.
Marriage Certificate, Book C2- 185 page.

I believe the birth record for Emily was from her death certificate, but need to confirm that source from a cousin. Thank you for your review of things.

Since we can't get details off the 1840 census for Emily...(due to it only naming head of household)...my idea was to track down the NEWBY family to see where she could fit in...whether her name is from a mother or some naming pattern, or if we can use clues from her children's names...

Children of Samuel Harrison Davison & Emily (Newby):
Martha, William Elzaver, Charles Walter, Franklin D., Lewis M. (most of these names never show up prior to now...and some like Elzaver are so unique we always thought it was a clue to her family).

Again, thank you for your response...related or not, always good to have another set of eyes review our data! ~~Sandy
