Seeking additional information, especially obituary for William Banta (b. 1839 ? Indiana d. June 13, 1902 in Martinsville, IN). Son of Cornelius Banta and Rebecca Eckels. William married Elizabeth May on August 25, 1861 in Vermilion County, Illinois. Livning in Hendricks Couty at the time of his enlistment in the Civil War. Entered the war as a captain in the 7th Indiana Infantry. He rose to the rank of Lt. Colonel. After the war he was a 1870 graduate of the Medical College of Indiana.
