The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa Thursday, March 12, 1908 FRANCIS WILSON was born near Gosport, Owen County, Indiana, on July 28, 1836 and departed this life at his home in southeastern Chariton on Saturday, March 7, 1908, at the age of 72 years, 7 months and 10 days. In 1855 he with his parents, moved to Lucas County, Iowa. On Jan. 29, 1859, he was united in marriage to ELIZABETH A. HOBSON. To this union were born five children, three sons and two daughters. They resided on a farm in Benton Township until Oct. 31, 1901, when they moved to Chariton, Iowa, where he resided until his death. He was a member of the Methodist Church, having confessed Christ about 36 years ago, and to the best of his ability he exemplified his faith in God and the future life and during the last week of his suffering he expressed his willingness and readiness to go. He is survived by his wife and one son and one daughter, JOHN M. of Ottumwa, and MRS. WILL CLARK of this city.
