David and Hannah Hittle

By the time that David and Hannah Hittle arrived in Marshall County about 1845, neither was in great health and both near or over age 70.

David Hittle died the following year in November 1846 according to probate records there in Marshall County.

At least 5 of his children settled into Marshall County:

Susannah and Joseph Lake
Joseph and Mary (Bachert) Hittle
Mary and Jacob French
Ann and Peter Smith
Rebecca and Jackson Purkey

One of the major problems in researching David and Hannah is that apparently both died intestate. What we don't have (that I know of) is a clear understanding as to how large their family roster was. Gedcom information is either incorrect, incomplete, or in a couple of cases, simply wrong in its application.

What I'm hoping to find is someone who has documental evidence in regard to their children. One more son bought property there (Isaac) and sold before 1850 without settling. Joseph, my 2nd Great Grandfather, purchased his property there as early as 1837, but was still in Rush County, Indiana to be counted in the 1840 census.

Am willing to exchange any information that will be of help to you.

My understanding is that of the 6 children I have listed, there are at least that many, if not more, children of this couple.

Thanks!
