"George Elmer Meyers (1st husband of Sabina Allen)

George Elmer Meyers was born in East Linn, Missouri, July 8th, 1869 and departed this life Nov. 21, 1928 at the age of 59 years, 4 months, and 13 days. He was united in marriage to Sabina Allen, April 15, 1896. One sister, Mrs. Fannie Miller preceeded him to her reward 30 years ago. He leaves to mourn his death his devoted wife Mrs. Sabina Meyers, a nephew Otto Steckmest, who has been making his home with them, and a few cousins. He joined the Christian Church in his early twenties, was a firm believer in God and ready to meet his Saviour. He was very generous in his dealings with others, contributing both time and money to charitable purposes. Eight weeks ago his illness began, having undergone two operations during that time, the last one proving fatal. His joy the last few years was the planning and working to spend his remaining days on his farm, for just next April he was retiring, with the splendid record of 30 years faithful service with the Pennsylvania railroad.
