I have the obit for Harry J. KLEIN, Madison Co., Alexandria, Indiana for 1959.
Harry J. KLEIN, 52 former Alexandria Chief and member of the fire dept. for 12 years. died at 5am Friday at St. John's Hospital at Anderson (IN) following an illness of three months.
Mr. KLEIN, who resided at 1116 W. Monroe St., Alexandria, IN.,had been spending the winter in Florida but returned home after he became ill.
He was the son of Mr. and Mes. John G. KLEIN and was born June 18,1906 at St. Josephs, Mich.. He married Eda DONBOSKY on June 13, 1931 at Marion (Grant Co., IN).
Mr. KLEIN came to Alexandria in 1926 from Wabash (IN) and had resided for 24 years at his present address. He had served as a Guard. He was Chief of the Alexandria Fire Department during a portion of his service there. He retired from the department in 1956 and later was employed as a guard at the Indiana Reformatory at Pendleton (Madison Co.,IN). He was a 25 year member of the Masonic Lodge at Anderson (Madison Co., IN).
Surviving in addition to the widow are: a half sister Mary Graham (of) Alexandria; three half brothers, George HOWELL (of) Indianapolis; Frank HOWELL (of) Del Ray Beach FLA., and Robert HOWELL (of) Elliott City, Md., and a niece, Mrs. Mary Helen MILLER (of) Alexandria.
The body was taken to the Davis and Stricler Funeral Home in Alexandria (Madison Co.,IN. and now called Noffezz Funeral Home), where friends will be received after 7pm Saturday. Services will be conducted at 2 pm Monday at the funeral home and burial in the Park View Cemetery at Alexandria (Madison County,IN.) (now Parkview is owned by Owen's Funeral Home in Alexandria 1.765.724.4411)
