Does anyone know if there is something wrong with the 1870 census of Lawrence County, especially the Pleasant Run District? I have "several" families who lived in this district near Heltonville and they are on the census in 1840, 1850, 1860 and 1880, but they are nowhere to be found in 1870. I have manually viewed each page of the census for the surrounding districts in Lawrence, Jackson, Monroe and Brown counties. I know there was a slight boundary change between Jackson and Lawrence counties, I believe in 1860, perhaps this could account for it and the census takers simply became confused and did not count a significant area.
Any help would be appreciated.
