Hi Gayle, thanks for pointing out the search engine - I checked the Michigan City cemetaries, but regrettably did not find anything.

Nina McMullen/Hobbs lived in Oregon (although she was b. IN, father b. KY, mother b. IN) where she married 1) Robert Emmett Mcintire (my great grandfather) sometime and somewhere prior to 1894. They had three children: Narcissus Marie, b. 1894, Edgar Alonzo, b. 1899, and Minnie Ella, b. 1906. By the 1920 census, she had divorced and remarried 2) Chas L. Baker.

Mr. Baker seems to have died in the early 1920s, and Nina apparently returned to IN. I assume to Laporte Co., where my father was born in Westville, IN, in 1924. All the rest of his family were born and lived in Oregon, and I cannot imagine why he would have been born in Indiana, unless his mother Minnie went to stay with her mother Nina for the birth of her first child.

My guess is that Nina was from Michigan City, because it is also located in Laporte Co., and Minnie (and some other family members) give Nina's place of birth (incorrectly) as Michigan on census information.

So, Gayle, you see a lot of this is just guess work, but that's because I have so little to go on. Thanks again for your help, Chris
