Donna:I had sent for "Widows Application for Pension" of Mary Ann Richey. In the file was a copy of the ledger of Thomas Shipp.

"I Thomas Shippe Minister of the Gospel of the Protestant Methodist Church do certify that on 27th day of June in the year of our Lord 1839 I solumnized the marriage between Mr. Henry Ritchey and Wife Mary Ann Ritchey. Given under my ____this July 13th 1839."

"I Thomas Shipp Minister of the Gospel of the protestant Methodist Church do certify that on the (looks like 3rd) day of July in the year of our Lord 1839 I solumnized the marrige between Mr. Robert Ritchey and Wife Sarah Armstrong. given under my hand this 13th day of July 1839"

Several things have confused me regarding Henry Richey, my gg grandfather. One was that his wife had the name of Mary Ann Ritchey prior to her marriage to Henry. I was hoping that Robert Ritchey might be connected to Henry or Mary Ann since both marriages were recorded on July 13, 1839. Any ideas?
Thanks, Dave Richey
