Yes, Sanford Tewell who is buried in the Nelson Cemetery is my 4th gr-grandfather. As you probably already know, he was b. 27 Apr 1782 in VA and died 19 May 1849 in Jefferson Co. He was in the War of 1812, serving Sep-Oct 1814 from Kentucky; however, I have never seen any proof of this. He purchased land in Clermont Co. OH 4 Oct 1816 on 10 Mile Creek (64 3/4 acres). He was also clerk of the 10 Mile Baptist Church until 1825. He purchased 40 acres on 25 Nov 1847 from James & Cynthia Crank in Jefferson Co. His first wife was Mary ??, b. abt 1787 in Georgia and died 17 Jul 1842 in Clermont Co. OH. She is buried at the Wheeler-Short Cemetery in Pierce Twp. in Clermont Co. which I visited in 1981 but has since been destroyed for house addition. Also buried in same cemetery are William & Margaret Thompson Wheeler; William is an uncle of your John Buell Wheeler who married Elizabeth Tewell. Now, to answer your question, yes, I think Elizabeth might very well be the daughter of Sanford and Mary; however, I have no proof. I have the following children of Sanford & Mary: Daniel Huston Sr., b. 1800 probably in Mason Co. (my line); Arnold Zacuriah, b. abt. 1806 Mason Co.; Cornelia C., b. abt 1808, m. Sanford Jacobs; John, b. 1812. Elizabeth seems to fit in agewise as well as location wise. Also considering the family connections with the burials at Wheeler-Short Cemetery. I have been able to find the parents of Sanford Tewell and curious about wife Mary who was from Georgia.
