I'm descended from Valentine Dehler, who was born in Kirchhasel, Hessen, Germany, in 1839. He married Katherine Braun (who was from Frittlingen, Baden-Wurttemberg) in 1865 in Madison, Jefferson Co., Ind. Valentine's parents were Andreas (Andrew) Dehler and Anna Maria Lohfink. Besides Valentine, they had the following children who immigrated to America: Antonius (Anthony) Dehler, b. 1828; Andreas (Andrew) Dehler, b. 1831; Sophia Maria Gertrude Dehler, b. 1838 and married Andrew Adams (he was from Baden). Franz (Frank) Dehler, b. 1849, and married Anna Jacobs. Valentine and his sister Gertrude and his brother Frank all settled in Madison, Indiana. Valentine was a boot and shoe maker who had 2 men's shoes, clothing, and furnishings stores at 301-303 W. Main St. in Madison. The other brothers Anthony and Andrew Dehler passed through Madison, Ind., but then settled elsewhere, possibly Louisville, Ky. Looking for anyone descended from these Dehlers.
