Searching for information on George Washington Thompson born in Jackson Co., IN. between 1824 and 1825, son of James Thompson and Margaret McKee. Family originally resided in Hamilton Twp. George married Celia Wright, b. Jan 26, 1827, daughter of West Lee Wright and Nancy Wright, on October 16, 1847. Their children were John Quincy Adams Thompson, born Sept 11, 1849, Margaret Elizabeth Thompson born March 22, 1850, William Thompson born 1852, Samuel Thompson born 1856 and Elsworth Thompson born 1862. All children were born in Jackson Co., IN.
Family is listed on 1850 census in Carr Twp., Jackson Co.,IN.
Listed on 1860 census in Carr Twp., Jackson Co., IN as George M. Thomson.
Listed on 1870 census in Carr Twp., Jackson Co., IN.
1880 Did not find any of the family members except Samuel, he was living with his grandmother, Nancy Wright on the 1880 census. Where did the rest of the family go?
Celia Wright died about 1862 and George W. married Ellen Bunday/Bundy on August 22, 1864. Son Everett was born in 1865. Can not locate a record of Everett or his mother in 1880.
Any help on this family is most appreciated. Happy to exchange information on George's brothers and sisters.
