Deaf School???

My GGreat Grandmother, Dora McKee Oatzes was deaf and when she died in abt 1902 my GGrandfather, Frank Oatzes, remarried another deaf woman.I thought that this would be quite a coincidence unless there was a deaf school in the area. Does anyone know if there was a deaf school in Howard County or anywhere in the Kokomo area at the turn of the century? I am at a road block and would appreciate any help.
