I have been researching Underwoods off and on in IN and OH for many years. Albert Underwood, b ca 1861, was an orphan as a babe in arms. 40 yrs. later he was reunited with his older brother Edward of Crawfordsville, IN and his sister Hattie Aston of Mt. Healthy, OH. In my research I found a large family of Underwoods in Hendricks Co. of children with an older couple who were probably their grandparents. It appeared that they were orphans, but did not appear to tie into my family research. Who is Gen. Thomas Underwood? According to family tradition Alberts father was killed in the civil war and his mother d of a heart attack when Morgans Raiders went through. Have found no proof to this story. Faye
