Bertha Merritt Casey
Does anyone have information on Bertha Merritt Casey who was born near Avon, Hendricks County a daughter of William and Abigail Merritt.She died 21 Oct 1943 in Indianapolis and is buried at Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield, IN.
She first married Elmer Thompson in 1895 and they had a daughter Bernice.After her 1st husband's death she married George W. Casey in 1910.
According to her obituary, she was the composer of the song "Hinky Dinky" which won a gold medal at the St. Louis World Fair in 1904.She worked for the Baldwin Piano Co. and was also a music teacher.
Her daughter Bernice married an Arthur Craven and they lived in Indianapolis.
