Looking for information on my gggrandfather JAMES SLAVENS, born approx. 1805 in KY. He was in Hendricks Co. IN by 1830 census. Married Margaret CRANE 11-28-1844 in Montgomery Co. IN. Was she a second wife as 1840 census lists 3 sons; by 1850 family included 7 children. (Also 17-year age difference between James and Margaret points to second wife.) Looks like he was gone by 1860 census-- dead? moved? Any information on James's parents/siblings/first wife/date or place of death is appreciated. Thanks!
