Thanks Janice.

It is my family and what we've found is that William St. Clair Young was married to Col. William C. Marsh's oldest daughter Mary Ann. According to family lore he (Wm. St. Clair-Young) mistreated May Ann.....this was the reason Marsh killed him. Then was killed by his grandson who was the son of this St. Clair Young.
So by this I will assume that the man who was killed was in fact William C. Marsh & his wife Sarah Armstrong Marsh's son in law.....not a brother in law to Sarah.
Of course the story although been passed down in the family as accurate could indeed be wrong.
