I am at a brick wall with the marriage between a Mr. Edwards and my gggrandmother - Sarah Alice Goldsberry-McLaughlin-Server-Edwards.
Her first marriage with John W. McLaughlin ended in a divorce between 1882 and '88. I have not found this document.
She remarried to Jeremiah Server in Clay Co, IN in 1888, but he died, (as he was 25 yrs her senior) between the birth of George W. Server, b. 1890 and the 1900 census.
I have found her, on the 1900 census as Alice Edwards with her two sons, she owns her home and a widow once again.
I have not been able to find Jereminah Server's death, nor my grandmother's. I know she died prior to the 1910 census, as she is not listed, anywhere, unless she has remarried, but I believe she died, as family sources says that she died in the home of her first husband and his second wife, prior to their move to Lafayette, IN in the early 1900's.
