My James and Mary Gillespie are buried in Matthews, Indiana. They arrived in Indiana, as near as I can figure, around 1838. The children I have listed for them are: Elizabeth, born 1825, William, my ancestor, born 1831, Rachel, born 1833, George, born 1836, John B., born 1839, and Peter, born 1841.
I know first these were common names then but it is somewhat of a coincidence.
Check Perry County, Ohio for info. That is where my ancestor, William, was born.
We did live pretty close to each other. Remember Pat's Drugstore and Paramount Theatre? I took some of my grandkids to Indiana a few years back and they really enjoyed it. Matter Park is almost as nice as I remember it.
I still miss Marion.
Anyway, get back to me on the Gillespie's when you can. It will be nice if we tie in somewhere.
