Here is one of my son's findings giving our Rev. War. Patriot & wife along with their children's names, which was found in the Preble County, Ohio Library, where we stopped enroute to a Mendenhall Family Reunion, Richmond, IN in August 2005. He found a lot of pertinent material there for LUCAS, while I was looking up my paternal 3G-Grandfather James Moore, Sr. of Preble County, OH -- some of the Moore sons & families moved to Wayne & Henry Counties, Indiana..

"Genealogical Abstracts Of Revolutionary War Pension Files, Volume II: F-M, Abstracted by Virgila D. White. [The National Historical Publishing Company, Waynesboro, Tennessee, 1991 (Library of Congress Catolog Card Number: 90-063006,other numbers listed, also.)]

Abstracts of Rev. War Pension File --
Francis, S36687, VA LINE, sol was b 10 Mar 1753, in Culpeper Co., VA, he appl 27 June 1818 Gibson Co., IN, in 1820 he had a wife Fanny aged 52 & children: Mary 19, Jemima 16, William 13 & Francis, Jr aged 9 yrs, in 1830 sol had moved to Princeton IN, sol d Aug 1831 leaving a wife & several children but their names were not given."

Francis Lucas had the pension for 2 years; however, he was denied futher payments as he had too many assets. From research, I know this Francis, the Patriot, had settled his father's estate in Virignia, before the family migrated to Indiana.

There are 3 generations in a row, where our ancestors had the name of Francis:
1) Francis Lucas md. Elizabeth ________unk;left a will, VA;
2) Francis Lucas, the Rev. War Patriot of Virginia, md Fanny __________ unk;
3) Francis Lucas, Jr age 9 in 1820.

Our own family records show that Francis Lucus, Jr md Johanna Wiggins -- their marriage is listed in "Indiana Marriages". Their daughter is Frances Viola Lucas md. Hamilton Foster; and my mother, Frances Viola Wolff, TX>WA/OR is a namesake of her Grandmother -- and then their is me, Violet. (My mother says: "Francis/Frances = his/hers" as to spelling!)

We have a lot of material.
