Thank you very much for your response and the effort that went into providing it.

The brickwall that I have been trying to overcome for several years is to learn more about William WHITLOCK before 1835 when he married Julia Ann MONAHAN. I am quite sure that Julia Ann was his second wife, because his son William, Jr. was born in KY in 1826, long before he married Julia Ann. (William, Jr. also appears in all of the censuses that you cited, also living in Lafayette Township). I am trying to confirm that William, Sr. also had a daughter born in KY (probably in Boone Co., part of which later became Kenton Co., KY across the river from Cincinnati. This daughter, born in 1818, I believe was named Eliza Ann Whitlock. She (Eliza Ann) married Hiram HOPPER in Floyd Co., IN less than two weeks before William Sr. married Julia Ann. Hiram and Eliza Ann were my gg-gparents. I have never been able to find any records to determine the name of William's first wife, who I believe to be the mother of Eliza Ann and William, Jr., plus several other children who never reached adulthood. William's first wife may have died in KY before William, Sr. brought the family to Indiana, or shortly thereafter. In examining Virginia marriages data, I can find two possibilities. A William WHITLOCK married Nancy MONTGOMERY in 1814 or thereabouts, and another William WHITLOCK married Ann FARIS in 1817. This second marriage seems a better fit based on William's age and the birth of Eliza Ann the following year, but I cannot confirm it.

Thanks again for your efforts, and good luck in your research.
