{ End of Census Record for 1900 }
Notes : Census tells us that her father was known as W.R. Fulton as he had a son
William and a son Robert that leads us to think he may have been William Robert
but no proof of this , also We learn that W.R. Fulton was Born in Tennessee, But
his wife Sarah J. was Born in Kentucky . We learn that the family must have
moved from Kentucky to Tennessee Between when James was born in Kentucky in
March 1894 and when Mary was born in May of 1896 . We know that Nancy was born
in Whitley County , Kentucky in 1889 and eleven years later they show up in
Fentress County, Tennessee . We learn that Sarah J was mother of seven children
but only six are still alive , the largest gap in time is between the first two
children David and Nancy for a child to be born but it is possible it could have
happened between the other children . I do not have information on that child . W.R.
and Sarah J had another daughter Elsie who was born after 1900 . We also learn
that W.R. Fulton was renting a farm and living between two families named
Thompkins , On one sie of him was J.M. Thompkins age 43, with his wife L.E. age
38 , they had been married 22 years with her being the mother of nine children
all living . Living on the other side of W.R. Fulton was a Martin T. Thompkins
aged 40 with his wife C.E. aged 31, they had been married sixteen years and were
the parents of seven children , five of whom were living . Both Thompkins men
owen their farms . Relation to the family is unknown . We also learn that W.R.
Fulton and Sarah J . were married about 1883 . I wrote to the Whitley County,
Kentucky Court Clerk who could not find a marriage record for them .
When Nancy died on 18 Feb 1948 , Her Record from the Floyd County Indiana Health
Department gave her parents as Jack Fulton and ------- Hamilton . The clerk Drew
a line for a first name as one was not given . We can think it was perhaps Sarah
J. Hamilton then . Sherman Wright , Nancy's son gave the name Hampton for one of
his grandmothers . I have found that his Wright grandmother was a Crabtree so
perhaps Hamilton and Hampton one of these is correct .
Mary married to Joesph W. Nails and had a son Frederick W. Nails who is listed
in Floyd County, Indiana W.P.A. Index to births 1882-1920 as having been born 16
Jan 1919 . Fred Nails Married to Gerogia
John Fulton married Emma Panka
Nancy was called" Nannie " by family and she married first to Edmond Mack Wright
on 4 June 1905 at Jamestown, Tennessee She Edmond and her family moved to Floyd
County, Indiana between 1920 When they are listed in the Fentress County,
Tennessee and 1923 when Edmond joined Modern Woodmen of America at New Albany,
Floyd County, Indiana . Edmond Mack Wright died on 11 March 1928 at New Albany,
Floyd County, Indiana at age 41 of TB. Nancy remarried to John H. Morgan and
then to Fredrick Lames , but she only had children by her first marriage . She
is buried at Zachery Taylor Soilders National Cemetery at New Albany, Floyd
County, Indiana with her last husband .
Nancy ( Fulton ) Wright, Morgan , Lames:obit appeared in the New Albany Tribune Newspaper on Feb 19, 1948 . The
Tribune is the Newspaper of New Albany, Floyd County, Indiana . As follows :
Mrs. Fred Lames Succumbs After A Long Illness .
Mrs. Nancy Lames , 58, wife of Fredrick Lames , died at 8: 30 p.m. Wednesday at
her home 727 W. 6th , after several months of illness . She was a native of
Kentucky and a member of the Nazarene Church . Survivors include two sons Edwin
{ should be Edmond } A. and Sherman E. Wright , both of New Albany ; two sisters
Mrs . Elsie McCarthy and Mrs. Mary Check , both of Texas , five brothers , Dave
, John , Frank , an William Fulton all of New Albany and James Fulton of
Cincinnati and four grandchildren . The body is at the residence . Funeral
services will be held at 9 a.m. at Nazarene Church . Burial will be in National
Cemetery .

Doye F. 11/12
Luso E. Crabtree , mother , age 59 Born Tennessee
{ some notes on the 1920 census - the Emmet is wrong it should be Sherman Emmett :
his age is correct but written very odd, this is the only record I have of
Doye -except this. I think it was probablyDoyle F. or F. Doyle
When Della Marie Wright died it listed her mother Nancy as being the mother of 6
children so that " Doyle " shows up in 1920 at 11 months means he must have been
born in 1919 and he is not mentioned in his sister
Della Marie Wright's obit in 1925 , this is of course if we assume that this '
Doye ' was in fact their biological child and not an adopted person of family
member . Also the Luso is unknown outside of this record - her name everywhere
else is Susie }
The next record of Nancy and Edmond is when Edmond joins the Modern Woodsmen of
America Camp # 3453 located at New Albany, Floyd County, Indiana on 9 April 1923
{ the same day his future daughter in law Lucille Marie ( Dyer ) Wright , wife
of Sherman was born at Elizabeth, Harrison County, Indiana } This comes from the
Public Relations Historian who provided his Modern Woodmen Records from the
corporate office of the Modern Woodmen of America at 1701 1st Avenue
P.O. Box 2005, Rock Island Illionis 61204 .
Then Edmond and Nancy show up at the birth of their daughter
Della Marie Wright who was born at 613 W. 5th Street at New Albany, Floyd
County, Tennessee . Her Birth Record with the Floyd County, Indiana Health

*** More notes on the search for W.R. Fulton and Sarah J. / Jack Fulton and ---
Hamilton / Hampton :****
No marriage found for W.R. or Jack Fulton and Sarah in Monroe or Wayne Counties
by the Court Clerk's office in those Kentucky Counties .
I was e-maileda note from Janet Platt that says that her ancestor
Smith Willis was born 1764 in Antriam ,Ireland he married Mary McMullen in 1792
in Washington County, VA . Mary McMullen died in 1828 and the family went to
Morgan County, Tennessee where he married Eleandor Fulton in 1836 . They had a
son David Willis born ca. 1838 .Smith Willias was 74 years old according to his
Rev War records when his son David was born . Elendor had been married to ?
Fulton and a son Daniel Fulton before she married Smith Willis . Janet has David
as dying at age 106 at Petros, Morgan County, Tennessee on 14 May 1910 , but
then says because of various census data thinks the age 106 may be in error ,
and Daniel Fulton was a Millwright .
In the 1860 Fentresss County Tennessee Federal Census District 4, # 383 is a
David Fulton 29, with wife Gabritha 25, children Catharine 3, and William R. age
1
The problem here is that this would have made this William R. Fulton born about
1859 whereas ours says on the 1900 Census that he was born March 1855 , a four
year disagreement of dates , but then look at the 1870 Census
1870 Federal Census for Fentress County , Tennessee
Disrtict 2, # 41 - David Fulton age 42 , Wife Tabetha age 41 , children
Catherine 12, William age 12 , Nancy age 10, Margaret age 8 all these people
born in Tennessee with two younger children born in Kentucky , they being : John
Henry age 6 , and David M. age 2
This William Fulton if age 12 would have been born about 1858 whereas ours says
he was born March 1855 , a three year disagreement . It does look however that
other dates are off as Tabetha and Gabritha are probablythe same person and he
dates and William's date do not match in the 1860 and 1870 Fentress County,
Tennessee Census .
