Maplewood was the name of the home of Mr. Claypool. He donated ground on which the Grand Ave M-E church was erected. There was also a Maplewood School on 5th Street. In 1894, the section known as Maplewood was annexted to the city of Connersville, IN.

I'm not certain but I think my source was 'History of Fayette County Indiana' B F Bowen & Company, Inc 1917
