1856 PLAT MAP Pictures! - Fayette Co. IN

1856 Fayette County IN plat map pictures and a partial index of owners are available (free) on the internet at www.jdhartsell.com.

The map is on the wall of the courthouse in Connersville, Indiana. It is a snapshot in time and shows landowners, the roads that existed then, towns, churches, streams, etc. Using the 1850 Census, and following the census taker's route against the names on the 1856 map, you can find where people lived even when they didn't own land!

If you know of any other work preserving the contents of this map, please let me know.
