I don't know if this helps any, but there was a Mr. and Mrs. Books that owned a small little mom and pops type store in the city of Elkhart back in the 50s. It was located on E. Beardsley Ave. right across from the Conn Band instrument plant. All of us kids from Beardsley school would stop in after school and get treats on our way home. I think they lived upstairs. Didn't know their first names. That would have been improper back then. Just very nice Mr. and Mrs. Books.
