There could be a connection. Mary (Bell) and Erwin Wantz were in Elkhart Co. at least in 1866. Mary's father's will mentions them being there at that time when his will was executed in Preble Co., Ohio. Her father's name was Benjamin, and this is all the further back I am able to go with his possibly being born in Pennsylvania or Ohio about 1795.
There is a Jacob Bell living in Lanier township in 1820 census but not in later years. A tax list for 1827 shows Benjamin listed also in Lanier township, but no Jacob.
I haven't been able to find any other info. so far about this Jacob and if he is related to Benjamin.
Mary also had a brother Daniel who moved to Indiana and was in Huntington Co. at this time, 1866. Since I am not able to go back further than Benjamin, I am trying to locate his descendents in hopes of finding some answers. There are Drake families living in this area. Did any of yours live there?
