Obituary of James ELLIOTT, aka Pat PENPROD
Grit, Millersburg, Elkhart co, IN, Thur 18 May 1899, p5:1

James ELLIOTT, age 72 years, better known as Pat PENPROD, was killed by a G. & M. train at Goshen, Tuesday. The man was walking on the track when noticed by the engineer, and being deaf could not hear the signal given. He was hurled 20 feet and instantly killed.
