I am trying to help a friend with her family and she has family stories that give conflicting info. One says Goshen, Elkhart County and the other Lagrange County. I have no other family information for the 1870 census. By 1880 she is living with the John S. Pixley family in Clear Spring, Lagrange, IN and is shown as a daughter, age 12. Family story is that her father died when she was very young and her mother died when she was about 11. We think that John Pixley could (possibly) be an Uncle. We don't have any marriage records or death info at this time. We had hoped to find her in 1870 to identify her parents. I have searched the town of Goshen and have found nothing, but I haven't looked at the rest of the county. I was hoping that it had been indexed and that I could just go straight to it. No such luck, huh? Thanks. Carol
