The 1850 Fed Census Elkhart County, Jefferson township: my husband's ggrandfatheris listed with the family of George Robinson, 64y b ca 1786 PA a farmer.
Sydney, wife age 42, b ca 1808 in New Jersey.
Sarah, dau. age 16, b ca 1834 in Ohio.
Jane, dau. 14 b ca 1836 in Indiana.
Jacob, son, 10 b ca 1840 in Indiana.
Jerome, son, 5 b ca 1845 in Indiana.
Jerome is my husband's great grandfather.
I would like to hear from anyone who connects to any of his siblings.
Next house on the census is the family of Jacob Smith who's third child was born in Ohio ca 1835. Jacob was from Germany and his first and second children were born in PA. Feel there might be a connect such as Jacob Smith is "Sydney's" brother. "Sydney" an unual name for a women could be how the census taker interpreted a German name.
If the Smith family sounds familar I would like to hear from Smith connections.
