George Washington Smith was born sometime between 1833 and 1838 in Delaware County, IN. He married Mary E. Moore on November 20, 1856, in Delaware County. Mary died on May 9, 1863. In 1857, the couple left with his uncle, Lewis Smith, for Le Sueur County, MN.
At the time of the Sioux Uprising in the Minnesota River Valley, they returned to Delaware County, IN.
Can anyone tell me more about this couple?
