I thought the internet was going to be a great way to find people but by the time you read all the message boards it could take months to find anything....

Anyway.....I have ancestors from Decatur County - Harrison Myers married Rebecca Smiley on Jan 1, 1838....Hamilton Myers married a Smiley girl and so did Daniel Myers...there was also a Peter Myers in thre somewhere....still trying to figure it all out. Harrison and Rebecca had five children by 1848....he died of cholera in 1848 as well. Harrison was a river boat pilot (can't find any informatin on river boat pilots or cholera victims...) Rebecca moved to Missouri by 1860....the boys served in the CSA in Missouri, one was killed at pea ridge....the other two boys lived in Illinois for many years....

Is this one of the Myers' you are looking for?

Sheryl - Ohio
