Hi Myra -

Thanks for your post! Will be more than happy to share any info I have on these families. I do have some info on both - mostly on the Hefrons. My family is related to the Hefrons through my great great grandmother, Catherine Dixon Conroy, of Mauch Chunk, PA. Catherine's sister, Bridget, was your Catherine's mother - Bridget Dixon Hefron, wife of Lawrence Hefron. I have a number of more details about them - they (the Hefrons) emigrated from Co. Mayo around 1832 or so (have the date somewhere) for Lawrence to work on the Erie Canal. Anyway, my conjecture (long story!) at this point is that all these families were from a small town in Co. Mayo called Cong on the Mayo/Galway border. My gg grandmother didn't come over until 1852 - along with a number of other related families from the Cong area.

Anyway, probably best to just email me at william.auld@duke.edu - let me know what you have so I don't bother you with stuff you don't need! I have obits for Bridget - Stephen - David - all which contain interesting little 'facts'.

Look forward to hearing from you!

Bill
