THOMAS, James, Michael. Indiana, Ohio & Kentucky

Looking for information on my THOMAS Line.

My great great grandfather JAMES MICHAEL THOMAS, served CRAWFORD COUNTY, in the Civil War.

Although it seems most of his time was spent in Northern Kentucky and Hamilton County Ohio & possibly Clermont County, Ohio).

Was there - Is there family in Crawford County?
I know there were THOMAS' there during that time period, but it is also a common name.

So I am hoping someone researching THOMAS' may be looking for a long lost relative that sounds like mine!

1. JAMES MICHAEL THOMAS was born 1829 in Hamilton County, Ohio, married ELIZABETH BETTIS. (Census' always show OHIO as "his parents" birth place). James served Crawford County during the Civil War. 23rd Regiment, H Company. Mustered in at Albany Indiana.

His son -
MICHAEL JAMES THOMAS was born 1877 in Northern Kentucky, married Bessie Barber.

Other Info:

My grandaunt (Daisy Thomas) daughter of Michael & Bessie, whom was born April 1900, always said we were related to Daniel Boone.

Well, I have no idea if that is true or not. However many of the other family stories have all panned out, so this may do so as well. There is also mention of there being an Indian Doctor in the family - which I believe was on this THOMAS side.

All of the locations that James & Michael and their families - were up and down the Ohio River.

Does any of this by chance have a ring of familarity to anyone?
I just can't seem to get any further or differentiate from one Ohio James & Michael Thomas from another, (there are quite a few)!

Any Help Is Appreciated.
Thank You.
