I made a mistake, the Kendalls are on my grandmother's side (Knights of Crawford/Orange Cos). The Kellams are on the Jacobs side.
You have William Wilson McCarty and Redding McCarty in AR (is that Arkansas?)
I found a Nicholas McCarty in Arkansas in the 1850 census but I didn't know if he was the one I was looking for.
Did William McCarty and Nicholas go together there?
Arena Carolyn McCarty married in Dubois Co.to Elisha P. Jacobs.I have no written records proving her to be the daughter of Nicholas McCarty and Sarah Wilson. All I have is her word for it, as given to me by my grandfather, her grandson.
William and Nicholas were sons of Thomas McCarty. He came out of the Monongehela area south of Ft. Pitt, which is now PA.
His father, also named Nicholas was in area east of that, also PA.Before then I do not know.

Do you know if anyone has a family bible? or something.Indiana did not use marriage bonds as did Kentucky. That would have been very useful.
