John C. Bowman and Mrs. Nancy J. Graybill Contracting Parties

John C. Bowman and Mrs. Nancy J. Graybill , of Advance, were married Tuesday morning in S.M. Ralstonís office, Mayor John H. Hoy officiating. The groom is 78 years old and the bride is 63. The former is a retired farmer and quite well to do financially. His bride is a widow of the late Nathan Graybill. It is the second marriage for each. Both parties are among the most prominent and highly respected in the county. They will reside at Advance.
Both parties have families and considerable property and previous to the consummation of the marriage Mr. Bowman and Mrs. Graybill filed in the county recorders office and ante nuptial contract. By terms of this contract she shall be entitled to the sum of $1,000 out of his estate in the event she shall survive him, this sum in lieu and full of all the interest she otherwise would have in his estate as his surviving widow, including her statutory claim of $500. Mr. Bowman surrenders all interest he otherwise would have in law in her separate estate, in the event he should survive her as her husband. It further provides in the contract that if they shall be unable to live as husband and wife because of domestic infelicity, then she is not to have the $1,000 mentioned above or any of the interest in his estate, provided, however, that if their failure to live together is wholly the fault of Mr. Bowman, she shall be entitled to the $1.000.

Note from Janet Price; I am posting this story for others. No mention of Mrs. Graybill's maiden name was given. I am not related to the subjects.
