On 1910 census, Bartholomew Co., Indiana, Columbus Twp., p. 17A, household #27 are John W. Blany, 23; Emma (wife), 26; Earnest Mobley (step-son), 6; Mary E. Blany (daughter), 3; and the twins, Edward and Edna Blany (son & daughter), aged 10 months. I suspect that Ernest Mobley is the missing "half-brother." Since both his biological parents died while he was quite young, I suppose it wasn't surprising that he lost contact with the family. Still, he would have been a biological half-brother to Mary E. Blaney; you'd think he might have kept touch with her.

There were some other Mobley children who apparently died young. John Mobley and Emma had their own set of twins, 24 July 1901. The boy died 3 days later, no record of the girl. Then John & Emma had a girl, Elva F., b. 22 Mar. 1903, not found in 1910, no death record in Bartholomew Co.

John W. Mobley m. Merle Mobley, 18 May 1912 in Bartholomew Co. Their son Herschel was b. 5 Sept. 1913, Bartholomew Co.
