Fort Wayne Children's home 1920's
Posted by: John Beck (ID *****6471) Date: October 06, 2011 at 07:41:12

Early to mid 1920's, maybe longer

It was a "Farm" with wild strawberries
Big apple orchard
blue and yellow checkered dresses
Summer - Navy blue straw hats with big brims
on Sundays the children were taken to church in town.

Put on a big benefit for the Veterans of World War 1, children were taken in to be in it we sang. One of the songs was “The Holy City”

German Governess called Miss Martha (engaged to the son of the people who were in charge of the babies/baby cottage)

Was either Fort Wayne Indiana or less likley Van Wert, Ohio (Marsh Foundation)
