Hello, Kristy! The list of Allen County Cemeteries which you provided so nicely was greatly appreciated by my husband and me. We cannot find his grandparents who are George Van Horn and Margaret (Parker) Van Horn. We were told that Margaret's relatives had a cemetery, but do not know much more than that about either of them. My husband heard that Margaret's relatives were significant political people who were involved in early Allen County development. The name Parker appears on the facade of the Allen Co. Court House in Ft. Wayne, Ind. George may have worked for the railroad in Ft. Wayne, but this is not certain. It is a possiblilty that they may be buried in the Parker Cemetery. We note that you were going to make a trip there for another person interested in that cemetery and wondered if you would be so kind as to take any pictures which might be useful to us of their tombstones or those of her parents. (We really don't know who her parents were unless it would be the Peter and Elizabeth Parker who donated the 2 acres of land in 1846.) We believe that they may have had 8 children, but again, this is absolutely all that we know about them. They could have lived in the 1850's to the 1920's but this is all conjecture. We read where you stated that bodies were being moved to another location. Would it be possible that these two were moved, as well? My husband, in particular, would be ever so greatful to you for any assistance you could render in finding any of his relatives!
Thanking you in advance and for taking the time to read this. Please know that it is appreciated.
Susan Van Horn
