I am working on my KELLY line in Fort Wayne, IN. John and Johanna KELLY came from Ireland to the US abt 1870, and eventually settled in Fort Wayne. Their first two daughters, Catherine and Mary, were born in Ireland (Lakes of Killarney, County Kerry, according to family oral history). There may have been older children left in Ireland. After arriving in IN, two sons were born: Patrick T. KELLY abt 1869, and John J. KELLY 1876. There may have been a son William, died as infant 1874.

Catherine m John Kelly STEVENS and d 1884 after giving birth to their only son, William Henry Alfred STEVENS.

Mary married P. H. Phillips of Fort Wayne abt 1900, but appears to have been widowed somewhere betw 1910 and 1920. Their daughters were Helen, Grace M., Marguerette (?sp), and Celeste M.

Patrick KELLY married Emma ?, having children Frederick, Katherine M., Emmett, Stephen C., Helen M., Marie A., Mildred A., and there may have been another son, possibly named Clifford.

John J. KELLY evidently remained a bachelor and died before he was 50.

Another KELLY relative in Fort Wayne was Timothy KELLY, who co-owned the KELLY family burial plot at the Catholic Cemetery there. His first wife was Ellen, second wife Emma, and children Kattie, Mary, Andrew, Timothy, Richard, and Dabora. He lived next door to a Daniel and Dabora FALVEY, who may have been related to Johanna KELLY (John KELLY's wife). (I am not yet sure how the Timothy Kelly's are related to the John Kelly's, nor how Johanna FALVEY KELLY is related to Daniel FALVEY.)

If any of these names sound familiar to anyone else working on a KELLY line in Fort Wayne, IN, I would be interested in comparing data w you!
