I am a Rice who was descended from Sampson Rice who migrated to Adams Co. IN in about 1830 along with the following Sons: Benjamin James, William Pendleton, Samuel T. and John C. Rice. Sampson was descended from James Rice, (d) 1817 in Loudoun, Co., VA.
If you are a direct Male descendant of any of these fellows and are a Rice you have an opportunity to participate in a DNA project which is sponsored by the Edmund Rice Association.
Sorry female Rice descendants, because of the "Y" chromosone only Male descendants inheirit the needed DNA.

Several of us cousins have already done the DNA test and It proves pretty conclusively that James was our direct ancestor. My DNA code # is 5032. Your help would be appreciated.
