Gerry, I have read the posts between you and Debbie. I have a question concerning some of your research. In your research, have you come across a Laura Impson who married John Thomas Simpson? Marriage should have been ca 1898 in Union Parish. John Thomas Simpson was my grandfather. Laura was his first wife. She died ca 1907-08. They had 5 children who were half-brothers and half sisters to my dad. I did have the opportunity to meet all except one of them while I was a very small child. My grandfather was born in the Point/Wilhite area of Union Parish (about one-half mile from where the Mt. Arrat Church is today) I am researching my family tree and there is no information in any of our family records as to who Laura's parents or siblings were.
