Why would a name be crossed off a passenger list?
I wonder if any one can help with this query? Some kind people have helped me locate a grandfather on a passenger list for the Oceanic in March 1907. Th ships destination wasNew York. We know that he actually landed in Boston from his Declaration of Intention. His name and details have a line through them with I think 'nob' at the end of the entry. Was it usual for a ship to stop at Boston on the way to New York? Does nob mean 'not on board'? this is just a guess!
Excuse me for the questions. I haven't been doing this very long, and finally can anyone tell me if I can find out about his passage back to England because we know that he married back home in 1911.
His name was William Thomas Snowdon, born Spennymoor England.
He was a miner and he was born in 1884.
Iwould appreciate any help that anyone can give
