Hello again jcoleman
Mara SAMBOL age 21 accompanied by Anton age 3 arrived april 34th 1913 aboard the La Touraine out of the Port of Havre, France destination to husband/father Mirko at 503 W 4th (or 11th) St KC, KS former residence and birthplace for both was Ribnik where the next of kin was father/grandfather Miko TUBIC
And there is a manifest for a Mirko SAMBOLA age 11 arr 1902 from Ribnik to KChe was transcribed as surname Mirko at Ellis IslandCould your Mirko have lived in the US and gone back to marry? The age is about right.
I found no manifest for Mirko SAMBOL, nor anything close.. searched all Mirko last name beginning with both S and L (L and S are often confused when transcribing old records)... all SAMBOL and LAMBOL also all males from Ribnik from 1908 to 1913 and found no one with a close spelling... so either his name has been so badly transcribed that he can not be found at Ellis Is, or he arrived via another port... or he used someone elses passport, which was more common than we can imagine.
I think that I have mentioned this before... but I will mention it again... Yugoslavia existed only from 1929 until 1991... so they were born in Croatia, which has been Croatia since before 925 and is Croatia today!
