Tonie,
The name may not even be close to the original Lithuanian name.Perhaps Douglas was chosen because is sounded "American"
Where was Michael Wallace DOUGLAS born?The only record I find of him is a WW I Draft Registration which states he was Native Born. Is that him?Was he born in Chicago?
Have you found him in any other records?
If I search the 1900 chicago census, using keyword Lithuuania if find 588 people and if I search for people born in Russia (Lithuania was part of the Russian Empire) I find over 38,000
